We believe the church is not a location or a facility. While we use these facilities to serve our faith community and community at large the church is not a building but rather the church is the people who share in the faith of Jesus Christ and commit to fulfilling his mission. To learn more about who we are check out our beliefs, mission, core values and member expectations.
Our history:
In 1959, there were three or four families who began talking about starting a New Testament Christian Church on the east side of Bartlesville, as there was not one at that time. During that time period, there was an organization called the Northeastern Evangelistic Association located in Tulsa. This group was comprised primarily of men from the Tulsa area. It was decided that the group of families here in Bartlesville would write a letter to the Association asking for their help.
The first Christian Church in Cleveland, OK, had also been very active in starting new churches. They had sponsored the beginnings of churches in Stroud, Claremore, and Owasso, just to name a few. They were very interested in placing a church in Bartlesville and offered financial support for a period of three years.
The first meeting of East Bartlesville Christian Church (EBCC) was held at the Tuxedo Lions Club building on December 6, 1959. Keith Casteel who was a Timothy of the Cleveland Church took the pulpit as our first minister.
The East Bartlesville Christian Church continued to meet in the Lions Club building for approximately one year. It was then decided to purchase land and build a church building. We purchased the land and began construction. In 1961 we held our first service in our current location.
Over the years, we have seen many people come and go through our church doors, but through it all, the Lord has shown his abundant glory on his church. During the fifty years of East Bartlesville Church, we have been blessed with eight Senior ministers:
and seven youth ministers
Each of these men has brought many additions and love to EBCC. We truly thank them for their leadership. We are also blessed with a church Board of Elders and Deacons who have had the love of God in their hearts and minds for the good of this congregation.
Staff
There are solid convictions on which every church is built. The convictions that shape the mission of EBCC are:
The church should…
be the primary vehicle for shaping our community at all levels.
claim ownership of the greatest needs of the community.
bring Jesus and His teaching to the forefront of daily living.
be an extension of the love of Jesus.
be considered a shelter by those who are hurting.
be helping those who are far from God find their way back.
be the closest thing to the Kingdom of God on earth.
Our mission at EBCC is to live and love like Jesus.
Check out our core values and member expectations to learn how our mission becomes practical.
Ministries are a way of expressing the mission and values of the church. They are basically the strategies we use to live and love like Jesus. There are several ministry opportunities for people to get connected to the mission of Living and Loving Like Jesus. Other ministry opportunities include:

Live Out Loud (LOL) is the perfect place for your children infant through fifth grade to go while you attend our 11:00 a.m. service.
If you would like your children to go to Live Out Loud, visit the Childrens Welcome Booth located in the Faith Annex located to the east of the main building. Your children will be checked in, and you will receive a security tag which you will need in order to pick up your child. You will also notice a three-digit numeric code on your security tag (example: 101). This code is used to notify parents if help is needed with their child. We will display the three-digit numeric code on the video screen in the main service to alert you to come to the Live Out Loud area.
In Live Out Loud Childrens Ministry, our mission is to teach children how to live and love like Jesus. In our program you can expect that your children will be taught the following core values to help them in their daily walk with Jesus.
Life Transformation: Your child will learn that to love like Jesus they must first start with loving themselves and have personal growth in their daily walk with Him. They will learn how to transform their hearts and minds to be more like Jesus.
Purposeful Relationships: Your child will learn to have healthy, loving, relationships not only with leaders and friends at Live Out Loud but with others in the community as well. They will learn how to extend their love for Jesus into their daily relationships at school, at home, anywhere they are.
Experience the Presence of God: Your child will experience Gods presence during our time together and learn how to experience His presence daily. They will learn that not only is God with them at Live Out Loud but that God is with them always wherever they are.
Power of Team: We will show your child how to be a part of Gods team and the importance of being a team player for God.
Missional Living: Your child will learn how to look for mission opportunities in their community and in our Live Out Loud program they will be taking part in different mission experiences through out the year.

What To Expect When You Visit
Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
When are services?
Services are on Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Each service lasts approximately one hour. Our 9:00 service is a traditional format with a mix of hymns and older praise choruses. Our 11:00 a.m. service is a contemporary service where our music is lead by our band with newer music. During each of our services you will be able to take part in worship through singing, taking communion, giving back to God through our offering time and listening to a biblical message that carries application that is relevant to living and loving like Jesus in today’s culture. Between our 2 services from 10:00-11:00 we offer Sunday School for all ages
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. It’s not uncommon to see people wearing shorts or jeans. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.
Where should I park?
The church has 2 parking lots. The lower lot has an entire row set aside for new comers. We hope if this is your first, second or third time attending you will take advantage of the closer parking spots. Otherwise feel free to park in any spot on either parking lot. We also have plenty of handicap parking spots on the upper parking lot..
Where do my children go?
If you would like your children to go to Live Out Loud, visit the Children’s Welcome Booth located in the Faith Annex located to the east of the main building.
Am I expected to put money in the offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider EBCC your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving to EBCC.
Jeremy joined the staff at East Bartlesville Christian Church in December 2011. Jeremy grew up in Bartlesville & Dewey and after graduating high school attended Manhattan Christian College and Oklahoma Christian University studying youth ministry.
Jeremy met his wife, Caitlin at Sunset Bible Camp while working with middle school students. Together they have 1 son, Benjamin, and have been married for 6 years.
Before returning to East Bartlesville, Jeremy was the Youth & Families minister at First Christian Church in Junction City, Kansas.
Jeremy's favorite scripture is Psalm 97:1-6, "The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side. His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory."
Wilma joined the staff at EBCC in June of 1984. She loves her role of office secretary because she gets to meet so many different people and do so many different projects. She is married to Wayne and recently they celebrated their 50th anniversary. They have two grown children Gary and Jerry.
One of her favorite passages of scriptures is Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Gods Word is that Lamp to light my way. It will show me just enough to guide me in the right direction He knows the path He wants me to take and it will be the right one. Trust Him and take one step at a time.
